Glimmers of Joy

Glimmers of Joy – An Original Textured Mixed-Media Painting

Glimmers of Joy is an intense and vibrant artwork in which colour becomes a spiritual language and a living, tangible material. The painted surface is built up through rich, dynamic layers of enamels and acrylics, applied with energetic, instinctive gestures that create an ongoing dialogue between solid forms and empty spaces, light and depth. The raised areas, created entirely through the use of paint, enhance the work’s tactile quality, inviting the viewer’s gaze to move slowly across the forms, like an emotional map to be explored.

The composition, though apparently abstract, suggests symbolic fragments and traces of archetypal forms that emerge and dissolve within the pictorial space. Warm shades of yellow and gold, punctuated by greens, blues and darker accents, evoke sudden flashes of joy, inner insights and moments of awareness surfacing amid the chaos of human experience. The artwork does not impose a single interpretation; rather, it opens itself to multiple readings, making the viewer an active participant in the creative process. In this sense, Glimmers of Joy becomes an inner mirror—a place where each person can recognise their own experience of light and transformation.

Glimmers of Joy fully embodies the artistic maturity of Barbara S Stamegna: an artwork that brings together material intensity, chromatic sensitivity and spiritual depth. It is ideal for collectors drawn to contemporary art that explores new possibilities, as well as to the symbolic and emotional value of a unique work.
